The Newcastle Private Rented Project offers free support and advice to tenants, landlords and agencies involved in the private rented sector in Newcastle upon Tyne. It aims to help create a well informed, well run and well managed private rented sector across the city.
Newcastle Accreditation Scheme
The Newcastle Accreditation Scheme is a free and voluntary scheme which aims to improve and promote the private and rented sector. In order for a private rented property to become accredited or commended, a number of management and property standards must be met. Contact: 0191 273 6103.
Construction Training Initiative
The Construction Training Initiative, which is funded by Bridging NewcastleGateshead and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, sets up employment and training opportunities on local construction sites for people who are long-term unemployed. Every year, the project helps around 60 people into work.
People joining the scheme dont need any construction skills or qualifications and there are no age limits. People on the scheme get some training, such as health and safety, and then go on site to learn skills on the job.
