Bridging NewcastleGateshead (BNG) has welcomed the announcement that the two local authorities and One NorthEast are taking the next steps towards establishing a City Development Company.

Jim Coulter, Chair of BNG commented: “Bridging NewcastleGateshead and NewcastleGateshead Initiative have made great progress in developing closer working partnerships between NewcastleGateshead.

“Our partnership is effectively and successfully delivering a multi-million pound regeneration initiative which is transforming parts of NewcastleGateshead.

“We welcome the announcement of the establishment of a formal partnership and look forward to working within a strengthened political structure.

“A new City Development Company can only benefit NewcastleGateshead as it will accelerate economic development, and it will complement the work that we and NGI are delivering.”
