FIRST NORTH EAST PRIVATE LANDLORDS CONFERENCE SET TO TAKE PLACE
Private landlords in the North East are being offered the opportunity to learn more about the implications of new housing legislation at the first North East Regional Landlords Conference.
Taking place at the Marriott Hotel, Gosforth Park on 31st March, the day long free event includes speakers from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the National Federation of Residential Landlords. Delegates at the conference will also be able to participate in workshops on tenancy management, accreditation and health and housing safety rating system.
The event is being organised by the Newcastle Private Rented Project and Gateshead Private Rented Sector Team which are both supported by Bridging NewcastleGateshead (BNG).
Claire McMullen, Manager of Newcastle Private Rented Project commented: "The Housing Act 2004 comes into effect this year and it will have major implications for private landlords.
"Through taking a detailed look at the key issues, with experts on hand to answer questions, this conference will allow private landlords in the North East to avoid ambiguity and uncertainty about the act."
Mandy Reed, Manager of Gateshead Private Rented Sector Team said: "This is the first time that a conference specifically targeted at private landlords has been held in the North East and the event promises to be both informative and interesting for those working in the industry.
"This event will equip landlords with the knowledge they need to comply with legislation."
The Newcastle Private Rented Project and the Gateshead Landlords Project offer free support and advice to private sector tenants and landlords in Newcastle and Gateshead.
