Heritage value

Heritage value is about the history, distinctiveness and character of an area. We take an area's heritage into account in our programme. We make sure this happens by carrying our character assessments - known as Urban, Landscape and Townscape Assessments (ULTAs) - within neighbourhoods.

Housing Expo

Housing Expos have, in recent years, been held in Sweden. They aim to share best practice and innovation in housebuilding, raise an area's profile and leave a permanent, physical legacy in the form of new homes.

Housing Market Intelligence model

BNG brings together and interprets key housing market indicators (such as house prices, number of sales, etc.) and other indicators (including proportion of empty homes, estate agents' views etc.) down to a neighbourhood level. Findings from research commissioned by BNG are also included. The resulting Housing Market Intelligence Model has helped us determine where intervention is necessary and what kinds of activity are required.

Housing Market Renewal

Housing Market Renewal is a government programme which aims to tackle the problems caused by low demand and abandoned housing, and the effect this has on communities.

Housing Option Appraisal

A way of reviewing the full range of options available for the future of particular housing and choosing the best options to proceed with, following consultation, costs and how that housing meets or could meet peoples' aspirations.
